Magic Cask is a limited edition blended malt Scotch whisky from Compass Box, made by whiskymaker John Glaser and bottled at 45% in a 70cl bottle. Only 5,538 bottles were filled.
The blend is built around mature malt from the lost Imperial Distillery, aged in first-fill Bourbon barrels (92%). A single first-fill Oloroso sherry butt of young Speyside malt (8%) is the 'magic cask' added to it. It is natural in colour and non-chill filtered.
The notes run to dark marmalade, ripe Morello cherries, toffee apple and vanilla panna cotta, with baking spices and soft oak on a long, luscious finish.
