Compass Box Orchard House is a blended malt Scotch whisky, made from single malts only with no grain whisky. It is bottled at 46% in a 750ml bottle, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The blend rests mainly on Linkwood, Clynelish and Benrinnes matured in first-fill bourbon barrels, with a little Caol Ila peat underneath. Oloroso sherry-seasoned butts and custom French oak casks also play a part.
The nose shows apple, pear, pineapple and lemon-lime zest with Earl Grey tea. The palate brings malty ginger, honey, wild strawberries and vanilla shortbread over a faint trace of peat smoke, and the finish is creamy and led by vanilla.
