A blended malt Scotch whisky from Compass Box, bottled at a cask strength of 56.7% in a 70cl bottle. It was released to mark 20 years since the first Peat Monster, made in 2003, and is limited to 9,126 bottles.
A final maturation in specially chosen virgin oak casks adds richness and vanilla notes. The strength was set at 56.7% because whisky enthusiasts in the USA tend to favour higher strengths.
The nose combines sooty barbecue smoke, green apple, aromatic citrus oils and warming cinnamon. On the palate are tarry, smoked almond, seaweed, cayenne pepper and saltiness.
