Compass Box The Spice Tree (46%)

A blended malt from Compass Box, made from 60% Clynelish, 20% Dailuaine and 20% Teaninich. After blending, the whisky matures in the company's custom-made casks with varying levels of toasting. John Glaser calls them hybrid casks, as some combine French and American oak. It is bottled at 46% without colouring or chill filtration, and has a golden colour. The nose is spicy, with dried herbs, pepper, oak and vanilla. On the palate it is full and spicy, with ginger, toffee and black pepper, followed by a long finish.
