Compass Box Vellichor

Compass Box Vellichor is a Scotch whisky named after a word for the sweet, dusty, resinous scent of second-hand bookshops. It brings together several parcels chosen to recall yellowing paper, scratched leather and the many small scents of old volumes. Half of the recipe is stocks of Scotch whisky that were blended together long ago and then returned to wood, spending more than a decade in refill sherry butts. The other half is made up of separate parcels from Highland Park, Macallan and Caol Ila. The aroma is described as bookish: yellowing paper, scratched leather and old books.
