Connacht – Single Malt Irish Whiskey Batch 1 (70cl, 47%)

This is Batch 1 of Connacht single malt, the first whiskey to come from the County Mayo distillery's own copper pot stills. It is bottled at 47% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The small batch is double distilled from 100% malted Irish barley. It was matured for four years in ex-bourbon casks and finished in Jerez casks. The nose offers raisins and dried fruit, then honey, fudge, butterscotch, almond and a hint of star anise. Vanilla and spice sit alongside dried fruit and malt on the palate. The finish is warming and full-bodied, with lingering walnuts and honey.
