Connacht – Single Malt Irish Whiskey Batch 1 (70cl, 47%)

Connacht Batch 1 is the first release from the County Mayo distillery and the first whiskey from its own copper pot stills. It is a small batch, double distilled single malt made from 100% malted Irish barley, matured for four years. The whiskey was aged in ex-bourbon casks and finished in Jerez casks, and is bottled at 47%. The nose brings raisins and dried fruits, then honey, fudge and butterscotch with almond and a hint of star anise. Vanilla and spices sit alongside dried fruits and malt on the palate. The finish is warming and full bodied, with lingering walnuts and honey.
