Convalmore – 32 Year Old 1984 2017 Release (70cl)

This is a 32 year old single malt from Convalmore, distilled in 1984 and released in 2017 in a 70cl bottle. It matured in a refill American oak hogshead. The nose is a buttery pastry case dusted with nutmeg, or perhaps almond oil and oak shavings. On the palate come sour apples, spiced pears, ripe melon and orange peel, followed by a growing, intense brown sugar sweetness. Apples and pastry stay into the finish, now caramelised and bitter-sweet.
