Convalmore 32 Year Old is a single malt from the 1984 vintage, part of the 2017 Special Releases, bottled at 48.2% in a 70cl bottle. Convalmore stands in Speyside near Dufftown, next to Balvenie. It opened in 1897, had a fire in 1909 and closed in 1985, and its buildings now serve as storage for William Grant's whiskies.
The nose is bold, with a touch of oil and soft melted wax, orchard fruits, peach, soft caramel and a warm leather tone. The palate is rich, with fruit cake, candied orange peel, summer and tropical fruits and toasted brioche, and the balanced finish carries tangy sweet tones.
