A 39-year-old Convalmore single malt from Speyside, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail as part of its Recollection Series #3. It was distilled on 4 October 1984 and matured in a refill sherry hogshead until June 2024. The distillery has been closed for decades.
The packaging carries illustrations by the artist Bruno Mangyoku.
The nose offers ripe blackberries and plums with dark chocolate, hazelnut and a little oak spice. On the palate come raisins and walnut with a touch of clove. The finish is lasting, with dark fruit, oak spice and toasted nuts.
