Copeland 26.1 Cask Strength Single Malt Irish Whiskey (70cl, 57.8%)

Copeland 26.1 is a cask strength Irish single malt and the distillery's first release of 2026. It was made from 100% malted barley, distilled twice in copper pot stills and bottled at 57.8% without chill-filtration or added colour. The edition is 860 bottles, and the whiskey is at least five years old. It matured in ex-Pinot Noir and ex-Syrah/Shiraz barriques that had previously held high-strength rum. Copeland distilled and bottled it, and it matured on the Ards Peninsula. The nose combines juicy fruit with nuts, manuka honey and malted barley. The palate is oily and intensely warm, with spice, wood tannin, brown sugar and dark toast. The finish is long, warm and dry, with sweet and floral notes.
