Corbin Cash Merced Rye Whiskey (75cl, 45%)

Corbin Cash Merced Rye is a rye whiskey at 45% ABV in a 750ml bottle, distilled entirely from Merced rye, a California heirloom grain. The Souza family grows it on their farm in Atwater, where it is also harvested, fermented and distilled. The whiskey is aged for up to six years in custom-charred American white oak. The distillery was founded by David Souza, a fourth-generation sweet potato farmer, and is named for his son, Corbin Cash Souza. The family has planted the rye since 1917 as a winter cover crop between sweet potato harvests. Rye bread spice and rye grain lead, over syrupy sweetness and a silky mouthfeel, with butterscotch, vanilla, dark chocolate and stone fruit. The finish is long and smooth.
