Cragganmore 12 Year Old is the flagship of the Speyside distillery's core range, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, and the distillery's worm tub condensers also play a part in the spirit's character.
The nose is fragrant, with green apples, pears, baking spices, honey and a touch of earthy peat. The palate is medium-bodied and silky, with dried fruit, toffee, gentle wood smoke, herbal and floral notes and a cinnamon and nutmeg kick. The finish is long, with dark chocolate, candied citrus peel and subtle oak.
