A 13 year old single malt from Craigellachie, and the first release in the distillery's Cask Collection. It spent its first years in American oak, in a mix of re-fill and re-char bourbon barrels, then just over a year in Bas-Armagnac casks from the northern part of Gascony. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The release draws on the distillery's worm tub condensers, which give the spirit its bold character.
The nose has nectarine, flamed orange peel, toffee and a hint of tobacco. The palate brings fragrant wood, a touch of smoke, vanilla, shortbread, peppercorn and oily malt. The finish is crushed cooking spices, cedar and honeycomb.
