This is a 13-year-old single malt from Craigellachie Distillery in Speyside, bottled at 46% ABV. It is non-chill filtered and of natural colour.
The whisky spent about twelve years maturing in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, then just over a year more in Bas-Armagnac casks from Gascony in southern France.
The nose offers baked apple, orange peel and pear drop with vanilla custard, and dried fig as it opens. The palate is medium-bodied, with caramel shortbread, malted barley, orchard fruit, ginger, cinnamon and a touch of pineapple. The finish is long, with toasted oak, honeyed malt, liquorice and a chalky mineral note.
