Craigellachie 13 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from Craigellachie Distillery in Speyside, bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is non-chill filtered and has no added caramel colouring.
The whisky matures in a mix of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks. The spirit is condensed through traditional worm tubs, which gives a heavier, more muscular character. The distillery dates from 1891, and its single malts were launched in 2014.
The tasting notes recall Bonfire Night: toasted marshmallow, fire-roasted pineapple and baked apple with cloves, a smoky, cordite tang in the background, and a soft, smooth finish.
