Craigellachie – 13 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Craigellachie 13 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from the Craigellachie distillery, part of the Last Great Malts collection from Dewar's. Master blender Stephanie Macleod selected it to show the distillery's character. Craigellachie uses worm tub condensers, which give a sulphury, robust style. The malt is prepared in a wood-fired kiln and distilled three times through two spirit stills. In the glass it is straw gold. The nose is bold and peppery, with stone fruits, cloves, vanilla and marshland. The palate is hearty, with melon, honeysuckle, toffee and burnt wood, and the finish brings charred oak, apricots and rustic earth.
