A 15-year-old Craigellachie from 2009, an independent bottling by Curious Whiskies at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It matured in a combination of American oak ex-bourbon casks and European ex-sherry casks.
It is described as bold, full-bodied and densely oily, with a weighty mouthfeel. The nose has apples, peach and a touch of star anise. The palate brings spiced fruit cakes, and the finish is dry and pleasantly bitter.
