A 16 year old single cask Craigellachie released by Tri Carragh, bottled at 54.4% in a 70cl bottle. Craigellachie is known for a dense, earthy character, which comes from its worm tub condensers.
The whisky was distilled in August 2009 and first matured in a second-fill ex-bourbon barrel. In June 2024 it was reracked into a refill bourbon cask.
The nose is bakery-like, with apple turnover and crystallised sugar. On the palate come Victoria sponge and tinned fruit syrup, with sweetness set against the distillery's usual weight.
