Craigellachie 17 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from the distillery founded in 1891, bottled at 46% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
The whisky was matured mainly in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, then finished in first-fill sherry and bourbon casks.
Vanilla cream, caramel and tinned pineapple lead on the nose, with dried apricot and a hint of smoky liquorice. The palate brings toffee, malt loaf, light brine and oak spice, and the finish is long, with tropical sweetness, toasted oak and soft pepper.
