Craigellachie 17 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from Craigellachie Distillery, bottled at 46% in a 750ml bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no caramel colouring.
The whisky matures first in a mix of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. The batch is then split, half finished in first-fill sherry casks and half in first-fill bourbon casks, before the two are married. The spirit is condensed in worm tubs.
It is described as smooth and mellow, with vanilla opening into rich, silky exotic fruit and canned pineapple, and a hint of smoky liquorice.
