This is a 22-year-old Craigellachie from Speyside, bottled by independent bottler Fruitful Spirits in a 70cl bottle at 50.6% ABV. The whisky was distilled in March 2004 and matured in an ex-refill hogshead, which has had a gentle influence and leaves the waxy, viscous character of the distillery in front.
Just 239 bottles were filled at natural strength, with no chill-filtration or added colour.
The nose is bright citrus zest, pineapple and soft vanilla over toasted oak. The palate is waxy and fruit-forward, with grilled pineapple, citrus peel and light oak spice. The finish is long, clean and lightly drying, with citrus, toasted barley and a hint of pine.
