A 5 year old peated Ben Nevis from the Highlands, bottled by Creetown Distillers at 54% ABV from a single ex-Staoisha barrel. The cask gave 287 bottles, and the whisky is natural colour and non-chill filtered.
It is described as combining youthful peat with orchard fruit and an earthy richness, with the Staoisha barrel adding a smokier note without overwhelming the spirit.
The nose is fragrant peat smoke with ripe apricot, soft earthiness and a malty sweetness. On the palate come pronounced peat smoke, stone fruit, roasted nuts and an oily texture. The finish is long and warming, with smoke, gentle nuttiness and an earthy sweetness.
