Crown Royal Extra Rare 18 Year Old is a Canadian blended whisky, bottled at 40% in a 750ml crown-shaped bottle. It combines three hand-selected whiskies, each aged for a minimum of 18 years in new charred and refill barrels. The whisky is distilled at the Crown Royal Distilling Company in Gimli, Manitoba, then blended and bottled in Amherstburg, Ontario. It sits at the top of the Crown Royal range, a brand created in 1939 to mark the royal visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to Canada. The nose offers vanilla and stone fruit. The body is velvety, with light oak and caramel spice, and the full-bodied finish carries delicate nougat.
