Crown Royal Fine De Luxe is a Canadian blended whisky. The brand was created in honour of the 1939 visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to Canada. A Canadian distiller set out to make a whisky for the royal couple and is said to have tested more than 600 blends. The one presented to them combined around 50 whiskies. The nose is sweet, with biscuits, caramel, fresh mint, maple syrup and oriental spices. The palate is soft and even, fruity and honeyed, leading to a vanilla finish.
