Currach Atlantic Wakame Single Malt Irish Whiskey

Currach Atlantic Wakame is a single malt Irish whiskey finished in casks charred with Atlantic wakame seaweed. It is the second expression from Currach, following the first, which used Irish Atlantic kombu kelp. The seaweed is harvested by hand by the Talty family from the Wild Atlantic Way in Co. Clare, and is organically certified. Wakame is a green seaweed picked in mid-spring, and it brings salty, savoury, umami flavours with a certain sweetness. The name comes from the currach, the boat early Irish monks used to explore distant lands.
