A 2015 passito from Cusumano, in a 50cl bottle. Moscato dello Zucco was made famous in the mid-nineteenth century by Henri d'Orléans, from estates in the Zucco district between Partinico and Terrasini, near Palermo. Cusumano revived it after ten years of experimentation. Only the best grapes are picked by hand in the warmest months and taken to the winery to dry slowly, concentrating aroma, sweetness and flavour. Production is small, just over 8,000 numbered bottles. Golden in colour, it smells of honey, candied citrus, exotic fruit jam, acacia, vanilla and sweet spice. The palate is sweet and rich with some warmth and fine acidity, and the finish is very long, with notes of dried fruit.
