Cutty Sark Blended Scotch Whisky

Cutty Sark is a blended Scotch whisky named after the famous tea clipper ship. The brand was founded in 1923 by Berry Bros. & Rudd as a lighter, more approachable alternative to the heavier blended Scotches of the time. It was formulated to be lighter in both colour and character, partly with the American market of the Prohibition era in mind. During that period it was shipped to the Bahamas by Bill McCoy, a rum runner associated with the phrase "the real McCoy".
