Devil's Share is a California small batch bourbon made and bottled in San Diego by Cutwater Spirits, the distillery that grew out of Ballast Point and is led by master distiller Yuseff Cherney.
Only the heart of each small batch is selected, and the whiskey is aged for four years in virgin, heavily charred American oak barrels. It comes in a 750ml bottle at 92 proof (46%).
The colour is deep golden amber. The nose is cinnamon, tobacco, oak and vanilla. The palate is earthy, with creamy caramel and vanilla cream over an oak-forward core, and the finish is long, with a warm spicy kick.
