Cutwater Spirits – Black Skimmer Bourbon Whiskey (75cl, 45%)

Cutwater Spirits Black Skimmer is a bourbon from the San Diego distillery, bottled at 45% in a 750ml bottle. It is a blend of straight bourbon whiskeys, part Cutwater's own production and part sourced from partner distilleries, selected and blended for a smooth, versatile character. It was the distillery's first flagship bourbon, after earlier work with vodka, gin, canned cocktails and rum. The nose combines honey and vanilla with toasted oak and candied fruit. The palate is caramel and char with warm spice and pepper, and the long, peppery finish keeps some candied fruit and soft brown sugar.
