Cyrano 50 Year Old is an armagnac blended from several eaux-de-vie aged between 50 and 60 years, chosen by the Maître de Chai. All were matured in tight-grained oak from the forests of Gascony, and the blend is bottled at 42% in a 75cl bottle.
The younger components bring fruit, while the oldest add rancio, the deep, nutty and savoury character that long ageing creates.
Dried fig, date and prune lead into walnut, polished leather, cigar box and dark chocolate, with rancio underneath. The finish is very long, unfolding in waves of spice and dried fruit.
