Dailuaine – 12 Year Old 2006 Old Malt Cask 20th Anniversary Edition (70cl, 50%)

A 12 year old Dailuaine single malt, bottled by Hunter Laing for the Old Malt Cask 20th Anniversary Edition, which marks twenty years since the first Old Malt Cask bottling. It was distilled in June 2006, bottled in July 2018 and bottled at 50% ABV. Dailuaine is more often met in a heavily sherried style. This independent bottling shows a lighter side of the distillery while keeping its traditionally weighty character. The nose offers honey, bread and butter pudding and tropical fruit, with spicy gingerbread and cigar box wood beneath. On the palate come apple blossom, butterscotch and barley sugars, lifted by fiery cinnamon. The finish is brown sugar with a little sea salt.
