A Speyside single malt from Dailuaine, distilled in 1973 and matured for 30 years. It comes from the First Cask Series, drawn from a single cask that yielded 192 bottles, and is bottled at 46% ABV.
The whisky is straw in colour. The nose is led by vanilla, plums, apricots and custard, with cooked asparagus appearing once water is added.
On the palate the oak is sweet and prominent, alongside ginger, white pepper, cinnamon and cardamom. Water makes it smoother and rounder, with American oak coming forward. The finish is long, menthol and leafy.
