Dallas Dhu – 1975 Gordon & MacPhail is a whisky from Dallas Dhu (Speyside). Bottled at 40% ABV, 70cl. The original site of Dallas Dhu was situated on land owned by the noted Victorian entrepreneur and whisky fanatic, Alexander Edward and was designed by the legendary architect, Charles Doig. Closed in 1983, the Dallas Dhu distillery was taken over by Historic Scotland and is now a museum of whisky distilling. However, since early 2013 there have been rumours of studies by Historic Environment Scotland being conducted to investigate whether production could be resumed again. The result of the mutual support and friendship with some of Scotland’s single malt producers means that Gordon & MacPhail has traditionally matured and bottled whisky from a collection of distilleries, releasing them with a ‘house’ label, unique to each distillery.From the Orkney distillery of Scapa, through to Speyside classics such as Strathisla, Longmorn, and Glen Grant, the ‘Distillery Labels’ series showcases individual producers with whom Gordon & MacPhail have been working with, sometimes for over a century.
