Dalmore – 12 Year Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky (75cl, 40%)

Dalmore 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt from the distillery at Alness on the Cromarty Firth, founded in 1839. It is bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle. The whisky spends nine years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, then a proportion is finished in aged Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez. A twelve-year maturation was unusual when founding owner Andrew Mackenzie pushed for it, at a time when six years was the norm. The bourbon casks bring vanilla, honey and citrus, while the Oloroso adds dark chocolate, dried fruit and candied orange.
