Dalmore 18 Year Old is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky from the distillery at Alness on the Cromarty Firth, in a 750ml bottle at 43% ABV. The spirit spends 14 years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, then a final four years in 30-year-old Matusalem oloroso sherry butts from González Byass.
Caramel, vanilla, dark chocolate and orange zest open the nose, with cinnamon, potpourri and sherry sweetness behind. The palate is milk chocolate, candied citrus, stewed plum, chocolate-covered raisins and coffee, with nutmeg, liquorice and pepper. The finish is long, with cocoa, oak tannins, leather, molasses and citrus.
