This 40 year old Dalmore single malt was released to mark Richard Paterson's 50th anniversary as Master Distiller at the distillery. It is bottled at 42% and comes in a Baccarat decanter with a display case.
The whisky was first matured in ex-bourbon casks, then moved into Matusalen sherry casks for a further seven years.
The nose offers Seville oranges, cocoa, dark cherries, walnuts and figs. On the palate come dark chocolate, marzipan, Christmas cake, oranges and plums. The finish is long and sweet, with more oranges, sherry notes and rich cocoa.
