Dalmore – 50 Year Old - Candela is a single malt whisky from Dalmore (Highland). Aged 50 years, bottled at 45% ABV, 70cl. Founded on the Cromarty Firth in 1839, Dalmore is known for its luxurious, rich Highland whisky and deep connections to the Mackenzie family, whose 12-pointed stag emblem remains iconic. The distillery specialises in long maturation and premium cask selection, notably its long-term partnership with González Byass for high-quality sherry casks. Dalmore's spirit—robust and weighty—suits extended aging, resulting in some of the world's highest-priced and most collectible Scotch bottlings. Owned by Whyte & Mackay (Emperador), Dalmore continues to produce prestigious age-stated and limited editions overseen by Master Distiller Richard Paterson's successor Greg Glass. Candela is the international unit for the measurement of the intensity of light. It defines brilliance. So it seemed appropriate to name one of Dalmore's brightest creations after this international standard. Selected from the oldest maturing stocks of any single Highland Malt whisky, with spirit dating from 1868, 1878, 1909, 1922, 1939 and 1951. This is one of only 77 bottles produced, with a sterling silver collar accompanied by a stopper. In a crystal and wooden presentation case within a fitted wooden cabinet.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
