Dalmore King Alexander III is a single malt Scotch whisky in a 70cl bottle, made to honour the story of Colin of Kintail, Chief of the Clan Mackenzie. In 1263 he felled a charging stag that attacked King Alexander III of Scotland, and the grateful king gave the Mackenzies the 12-pointed Royal Stag emblem in return. Master Distiller Richard Paterson chose six types of cask for it: French wine casks, Madeira drums, sherry butts, Marsala barrels, port pipes and bourbon barrels from Kentucky.
