Dalmore King Alexander III is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky, in a 750ml bottle at 40% ABV. The release commemorates the act of a Mackenzie clan ancestor who saved King Alexander in 1263.
The spirit has been matured across a wide range of casks: French wine barriques, Madeira drums, sherry butts from Jerez, Sicilian Marsala barrels, port pipes from the Douro and bourbon barrels from Kentucky, with Cabernet Sauvignon barriques also part of the mix.
Oloroso and Madeira wood bring citrus orange, spice and nuts, while the bourbon barrels add warm vanilla. Port and Marsala casks contribute wild berries and plums, and the Cabernet Sauvignon barriques add red fruits.
