Dalmore Quintessence is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky released to mark Richard Paterson's 50th year as a master blender. This limited edition begins its maturation in bourbon casks before finishing in five types of Californian red-wine cask: Zinfandel, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Pinot Noir.
Blackberry, ripe cherry, dried apricot and vanilla lead into dark chocolate, redcurrant, toasted almond and ginger on a velvety palate. The long finish brings sweet cinnamon and dark fruit compote.
