Dalwhinnie – 15 Years Old (75cl, 43%)

Dalwhinnie 15 Years Old is a Highland single malt from the Dalwhinnie distillery, matured for 15 years in oak casks and bottled at 43% in a 750ml bottle. The distillery was built in 1897 in the village of Dalwhinnie, between the Grampian and Monadhliath ranges, and draws its water from a loch in the Drumochter Hills. It works with a single pair of copper pot stills and worm tub condensers. The nose is crisp, dry and aromatic, with heather and a trace of peat. The palate brings heather-honey sweetness and vanilla, then citrus fruit and malted bread. The finish is long, sweet at first, then giving way to smoke, peat and malt.
