Dalwhinnie – 17 Year Old - 125th Anniversary Edition is a single malt whisky from Dalwhinnie (Highland). Aged 17 years, bottled at 51.2% ABV, 70cl.
Another distillery that creates a heavy sulphury new make. Dalwhinnie Distillery dates back to 1897 when Alexander Mackenzie, John Grant and George Sellar began work on the Strathspey Distillery which, after less than a year, was renamed Dalwhinnie when John Somerville and AP Blyth and Sons bought the site. Throughout the years, Dalwhinnie was faced with some problems such as fires forcing the distillery to close and the maltings being mothballed. However, Dalwhinnie has since seen a thorough refurbishment as well as the visitor centre opening in 1991. In 1998 Dalwhinnie 15 was selected to be part of the Classic Malts selection.
This 17-year-old from the Dalwhinnie distillery is a limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky released to celebrate the distillery's 125th anniversary, with only 4,998 numbered bottles produced.
