Julemjød is a Christmas mead brewed on honey, with apple and a touch of cinnamon. It follows an old Danish recipe, and honey is the only thing fermented. Very few spices are used.
It is made as a dessert wine and can be served chilled, warmed or at room temperature. It is also suggested alongside the traditional Danish Christmas rice pudding, ris à la mande.
