This Dark Arts bourbon is a single barrel bottling, aged 8.5 years and bottled at cask strength, 59.9%, in a 750ml bottle. It is non-chill-filtered. The bourbon was distilled in Indiana from a mashbill of 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley.
After 8.5 years in barrel, custom-toasted French oak staves from the Jupilles forest were added for the final months of maturation.
The nose is brown butter, toasted vanilla, honeycomb and dark caramel. The palate has crème brûlée and butterscotch, then cinnamon bark, black pepper and toffee. The finish is long and warming, with vanilla, caramel and baking spice.
