Dark Arts Whiskey House Amburana Oak Staves Straight Rye Whiskey (75cl, 56%)

This is a straight rye whiskey from Dark Arts Whiskey House, bottled at 56% ABV in a 75cl-sized 750ml bottle. The whiskey was distilled in Indiana, then finished, blended and bottled in Kentucky. The mash bill is 95% rye and 5% malted barley. The finish uses staves of Brazilian Amburana oak, which add a gingerbread character that sits alongside the rye spice. Dark Arts is based in Lexington, Kentucky, and was founded by Macaulay Minton, formerly of Wilderness Trail's single barrel programme. The nose is strong, with gingerbread and rye spice.
