Dark Arts Whiskey House French Oak Staves Straight Bourbon Whiskey (75cl, 54%)

This is a high-rye straight bourbon from Dark Arts Whiskey House, bottled at 54% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It was distilled in Indiana, then finished, blended and bottled in Kentucky. The whiskey is between six and eight years old and was aged for several months with French oak staves. The mash bill is 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley. The staves add soft, sweet, warm wood notes alongside the spice of the rye. Dark Arts is based in Lexington, Kentucky, and was founded by Macaulay Minton, who previously managed the single barrel programme at Wilderness Trail.
