Dead Man's Hand Barrel Strength is a small-batch American whiskey bottled straight from the barrel at 47.1% ABV, in a 750ml bottle. It is non-chill filtered.
The mash bill is 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% barley, with the grain prepared in Kentucky and distilled in California. The whiskey is finished in toasted French oak barrels. The name comes from the aces and eights held by Wild Bill Hickok.
The nose shows oak, maple, vanilla and spiced caramel. The palate is full-bodied, with charred wood, dark caramel, peppercorn, vanilla bean and dried cherry, and the finish is long and warming with spice and oak tannin.
