Idle Hands is a 5 year old bourbon from Proof & Wood Ventures, a San Diego blending house, bottled at 47.6% ABV. The mash bill is 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley, and the whiskey was aged for at least five years in new American oak. It was distilled in Indiana, with the first batch distilled in 2015, and blended in San Diego from two thirteen-barrel batches. Dave Schmier of Proof & Wood blended it with Rob Morton, former owner of the East Village rock bar Idle, which gives the bottle its name. The nose offers brown sugar, vanilla, baking spice, toasted oak, citrus zest and dried fruit. On the palate come caramel, orchard fruit, cinnamon, clove, licorice and raisin, in a firm, spicy, chewy style.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
