This is an 11 year old single cask Deanston, a Highland whisky matured in a bourbon barrel and released by Ferguson Whisky at 46.8% abv.
The barrel brings American oak influences of vanilla, caramel, coconut and gentle sweetness, and softens the edges of the spirit. Deanston's own spirit is clean, fruity and subtly waxy, with malt sweetness, orchard fruits, honey and vanilla, on a smooth, slightly oily texture.
After 11 years, oak spice and structure sit alongside the distillery's fruit and malt character.
